It was indeed a pleasure to have been acquainted with Perry and Rachel for a number of years in Mooresville, NC. Prayers that our Father in Heaven will bless the family with His comfort and peace.
I remember Coach Pearson fondly. He came to Franklin my senior year. He was a good guy and probably one of the best coaches that Franklin ever had. He will be missed. RIP
It is quite figuratively and literally that Coach Pearson in 1990 chose to bring to his staff and East Nation an emerging neophyte Coach and fellow Social Studies department ( History ) member. Coach ( Head Rod ) was the impetus for much of the resulting success I had as an educator and Football Coach. His guidance and impetus led your truly to having achieved becoming a Director of Athletics in 3 NC School Systems a Head Football Coach having been honored as conference, area and regional Coach of the Year not to mention being a part of 3 NCHSAA State Championship Teams. His homespun disposition and attititude I emulated to attributing to him MY status as a retiree'. HE gave ME the most transformative advice one afternoon during the firs grading period I had as an instructor. HE walked across the hall one early fall afternoon as I was scurring to finalize grades so as not to be late for practice, which is what I thought HE was coming across to admonish ME as I explained when i told him I would not be late for pratice when HE gave ME this jewel that got ME through the remaining 29 years as an educator when HE patted ME on the back and exclaimed, " when it's all said and done ... just give them what they deserve Coach ! " That signature moment is what allowed ME to endure in the profession. His Winged Tee Football Philosophy has caused many over the years in north eastern NC to consider ME as some type Winged Tee savant. Finally off Coach Persons Football Coaching tree have spawned 4 other Head Coaches totaling 2 State Championship game appearances and 1 state championship victory ! Rest In Power Coach. respectfully submitted HB Harris & Family
Thank you, Coach Pearson, for your impact on my life. I loved playing for you, but more importantly, I am blessed for the support and encouragement you provided me off the field. You viewed each of us as more than just football players, which motivated me to work just as hard in the classroom. You gave me a briefcase for my college graduation. I donยดt think you know how much that moved me. It showed how much you genuinely cared about us as young men and our lives beyond football. Teachers and Coaches have the most impact on young men/women and can change the trajectory of their lives. You were both a teacher and a coach. I hope you realize the hundreds of lives you changed with generational blessings. May Godยดs grace offer peace and comfort to the entire Pearson family. I love you, Coach. Set, Ready-Set, Letยดs Go Now.

I remember him well as a coach in Mooresville during his early days but remember him more as my driving Ed teacher. My heart goes out to family
Heaven gained a great Angel, Coach! May God bless and provide peace to your family in the coming days! Coach was such a great teacher not only in the classroom but everyday on campus at East Forsyth! Fridays were always a special day that I will always remember! God Bless Coach and his family!
Rest In Peace Coach. Condolences to the family.
Rest In Peace Coach. Thanks for the many memories of East Forsyth football that will be with me for the rest of my days. God Bless.
Coach Pearson had a huge influence on my life both during and after high school. I was a manager/trainer for him and his teams as well as his student in the classroom. As his record attests, he was an excellent coach at several schools. But all of those close to him knew he was an even better man and mentor. My sympathies and prayers go out to Rachel and the family. Bob Mills, Mooresville HS, '64-'67

Such a great man with a big heart. I grew up with Tracy Wall as one of my dearest best friends. Her dad was such an inspiration to my family as his. My dad loved to hear Perry teach the bible and would talk about it many Sundays. He will be missed by many that loved him dearly. Love and prayers to his family.
